Stinson Beach Post Office Relocation Plan
From the outset, preserving the post office has been a central part of our redevelopment plan. When Bolinas lost its post office lease in 2023, residents were left without a local facility for over two years, and we take that lesson seriously. The reality with our property is that the existing building that houses the Stinson Beach Post Office is in complete disrepair, with a failing septic system, and redevelopment is the only feasible path forward for the property.
With the current lease with post office expiring in 2027, we are unable to sign a new lease in a building that must ultimately be demolished. However, this proposal creates a pathway to keep the post office in Stinson Beach long-term.
While the site’s zoning would allow for a housing-only project, this plan voluntarily includes a purpose-built, 1,250-square-foot space that would provide the post office with a permanent new home and five dedicated parking spots. Located next to the Stinson Beach Library, the new facility is designed to serve the community for generations. Throughout the construction process, we will work closely with the United States Postal Service to ensure uninterrupted local service.
